Time to Wear White
Posted by: petew
White watches are getting very popular. Up until a week ago, I don’t think I’d seen more than a few people in my life wearing a white watch out in “the wild.” Just this past week, I saw at least a half a dozen.
It started last Sunday. I was at a basketball game and you can imagine my surprise when I looked over and saw a guy wearing a white Casio G-Shock Frogman. I was instantly intrigued and kept looking over trying to guess the exact model. I couldn’t quite figure it out though, and then it hit me; the display was wrong. Ooops, this was a fake Frogman. Well at least the watch was white.
Three days ago I was at the Post Office. I was shocked to see a Casio G-Shock GA-100 on an older gentleman. Don’t get me wrong, it was cool that he was wearing it, but he just didn’t fit the mental profile I have of someone who would wear that watch.

Yesterday I stopped by the local mall at lunchtime. I saw four separate instances of younger looking guys with what looked to be white DW-6900’s on. I hope those weren’t fake!

So if you’ve been thinking about getting a white G-Shock, now’s the time. They’re great to wear in warm weather and they look even better with a tan, but don’t wait too long; in another week or two, you may be behind the trend.

White G-Shocks tend to be my favourites. It’s funny how such utilitarian tool watches instantly transform into fashionable timepieces with a simple swap of the colour palette. I like wearing white leather shoes, white blazers, white belts, white trousers and the white G-Shocks are a nice compliment!

Hi Evan,
You’re style sounds like some of what I see pro golfers wearing on the PGA tour. I’ve noticed lots of white pants, shoes and belts over the past couple of years.
Thanks for reading.
