GW-5600B-1JR will be released soon now that May Day has arrived. I’d like to pick one up; believe its’ the first Tough Solar/Wave Ceptor with solid steel case and screw on caseback.

Hello,
This watch strongly reminds me the GW-M5600BC that I am wearing when I write this
:
- pros: multiband 6, the nice black screw caseback, the “made in Japan”
- cons: simple bracelet, not the fabulous one of GW-M5600BC!
Best regards,
MikeNovember

Hi Mike,
The biggest con for me is the price. Unlike the too big price rise of the Seiko 300m Professional quartz diver watch, $350 for one of these new G-Shocks is acceptable. I’d be thrilled if the GW-5000 price were in the $100–$200 range like our GW-5600 models (wearing mine as I type too). Price on the GW-5000 isn’t a deal breaker, but it makes it “tough”er.

Hi,
I was actually going to write exactly what Brian wrote. I very much like the idea of the GW-5000 and the later to be released GW-6900. And if you thought this GW-5000 was expensive, the price of the GW-5000BC is even higher. If the retail price had been in the $130 - 180 range I would have thought about getting one. I hardly buy G-Shocks over $250. The next green Frogman would probably one of those.
Cheers,
Sjors
