In addition to the SBPP001 and SBPP003 that Bryan introduced on GMT+9 a couple of weeks ago, Seiko Japan has shown 3 other models which will soon be released under the “Spirit” brand. Characterized by clean crisp designs, there is almost something for everyone in this new collection.

The SBPP013 with it’s Lord Marvel like styling will appeal to the dressier crowd. Diameter is just over 38mm and list price is 40,000 yen.

The SBPPOO7 reminds me of the older 7t27 RAF Generation II chronographs. At 40mm, this one is larger and even contains a sapphire crystal. Additionally, the stainless steel case has undergone a hardening process. This model is available on a nylon ballistic material strap for 45,000 yen. The bracelet version will sell for 50,000 yen.

I love the clean dial on the SBPM001, and the watch almost looks like a Bellmatic. This one is a radio controlled watch with the 7B42 movement. Like the SBPP007 this watch has a hardened steel case and available with a nylon band (50,000 yen) or bracelet (55,000 yen).
These watches will be released over the next month and I expect them to be for the Japanese domestic market exclusively.

I have made enquiries at Seiko U.K if the new Spirit range, (in particular, the SPBB007 model) shown will be available here but they say not. Does anyone know where else, apart from Japan ,they can be purchased?
Many thanks, Pete H.

I believe Japan is the only market where these are officially available, although they may be released in limited quantities in a few other Asian markets.

Bryan

Bryan, many thanks for your reply to my query. I have located a chap in Japan who sells worldwide.
I just love the look and simplicity of that SPBB007 model. Its released today, 14th Nov. Very similar to my first issue Seiko for the U.K. forces. Must have one.

To continue on from my previous posts. After much agonising, bearing in mind the present climate, i ordered an SBPP007. Glad i did. Its a superb piece. Big problem now is, do i wear it and relegate my faithful 33 year old Rolex GMT to the box, its that good!!
Regards Pete H.

Hey Pete / Brian,
Can you tell me who you were able to purchase the SBPP007 from? It looks like an amazing watch but sadly I live in the States. You can e-mail me at andymoonnyc @ gmail dot com.
Thanks guys!

Hi Andy,
We recommend SeiyaJapan.com and Highuchi-inc.com. They are pioneers. Seiya has been selling Japan-only watches online since 2001; Katsu Higuchi has been selling them for over a decade! Their track record of customer satisfaction (including things like price, speed of delivery, and service after sale) can’t be beat.

Hi Guys!
I’m interested in the SBPG001 with its clean retro look and updated feature list. One question for anyone that has one: for the world time feature, does it list specific cities or just the GMT number. For instance, for GMT +2 does it give you a choice of Athens, Istanbul, Jerusalem, Cairo, like some G-Shocks, or just one of these or just a few of these? Thanks for the help.
