The GMT+9 Auction Watchlist #4
The goodies for this installment of the GMT+9 watchlist cover the time period of September 20, 2007 to October 10, 2007. Let’s start with some Casio products. The main feature is this AW-500 Galapagos. These came in multiple colors and the yellow is always popular. It’s good to see this watch getting noticed. This one sold on eBay for $285.00
Continuing on with eBay and Casio, here is a nice old Casio GPX-210 with a heavy back design. Interesting old Casios have recently been popular on eBay and this one was no exception. I remember a time when it wouldn’t have fetched $30.00. Price was $141.12.

This one is rare and probably went for a good price. It’s a DW-5800. I’ve only seen a couple of these for sale in the last year or two. Price was $302.00.

Let’s look at some very nice Seiko like Citizens. Here’s an older quartz chronograph modeled on the Seiko 7A-movement series. Neat watch. Price was $109.31.

Does this one look familiar? Seiko collectors will recognize it as a dead ringer for a Seiko Arnold. The price wasn’t anywhere near what the Seiko would sell for. This Citizen sold for $89.50.

OK, what’s wrong with you guys out there? Opening bid on this Citizen Recordmaster was $319.00 and no one bid. If I didn’t already have one, you can be sure I would have bid on this one. That’s a more than fair price for a very collectible watch.

Time for some Seikos. I liked this classical Seikomatic P. It sold for $302.00.

This unusual titanium Seiko Scuba sold for $89.00.

Often, Seiko Phonotelemeters fetch high prices. The military watch collectors bid them up. This one had a vague description and bad pictures which probably contributed to a low selling price of $139.50.

Time to look at Yahoo Japan. I don’t see this one very often. It’s a Seiko Motorist with an angled dial. The selling price of 113,550 yen demonstrates its collectiblity.

Got a light? No bids at 5 yen!

Most Seiko collectors are familiar with the Pipin divers, but many haven’t seen the Audrey Ferreras jelly version. Here it is. Sold with boxes and incorrect manual for 8,500 yen.

This Actus was unusual. I’ve never seen it before. I wonder if the hands are correct? Price was 5,750 yen.

Here is a pretty Elnix with an ending price of 30,500 yen.

This is a solid gold Seiko Sea Horse charm. Just kidding. It’s probably base metal or plastic, but it is a very cool hang tag and worth its weight in gold for a hardcore collector. It sold for 1,000 yen.

Let’s end the list with a couple of Albas. First is an unusual diver styled watch. It didn’t receive any bids at 3,500 yen. Second is a model from the Hypertech line. I suspect that this watch contains a Seiko 8Mxx movement. Price was 2,300 yen.

Slightly obscure fact is that the Motorist is probably a ladies watch as it is about 30mm and has a 2XXX caliber.

Hi Martback,
I had no idea that the Motorists were so tiny. That makes it even more unusual that the collectors bid it so high. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a ladies sized Seiko sell for such a high price.
Thanks for chiming in.

No telling what will happen when two collectors throw down high max on the same watch! Haven’t seen that GPX-2100 in a loooong time.
5800 was a deal - even with the scratched crystal. Be interesting to see what happens with this better one…

Can’t believe what I saw here.
I bought this exact Seiko Audrey JewelFish at SCTF on Oct. 23, from some guy from Taiwan. I recognized this watch because the package, the small plastic bag of extra links, and mostly interestingly, the incorrect 7T92 manual. Yep! I have the whole package.
Don’t know what to say! This seller must be very good in terms of grabbing stuff and sell it right away, for a profit.
