Hi Kim,

Thanks for reading...I'm glad you chimed in about the increased interest in Casio sports watches. I've only lightly followed many of these models over the past few years, but I too had suspected that they recently have been gaining in popularity. Maybe some GShock collectors are realizing that there is more to Casio than just G's. Thanks for the link. I go to your collector pages quite often.

Hi petew,

There seems to be a bit of a resurgence of interest in the early to mid 90's Casio digital sports watches lately. The SDB-500 went for a very high price I think. As far as I know it comes in yellow, orange, pink and black. Perhaps the orange is the most sought after due to its 'diver' orange connotations? I've found another one up for auction so it'll be interesting to see how it goes.

You can see the models in the 1992 catalogue here if interested ;

cheers,

It seems that I never get to encounter such cool watches when I roam ebay! However, I did find the 7016 and planned to place a bid for quite a bit higher than what it actually sold for. Unfortunately, a few things came up and I totally forgot about the watch. I was very surprised with the low closing price, it's certainly not easy to find such a clean 7016 nowadays!

Hi Paul,

Thanks for your comments. I'll try to keep this Auction list as a regular series. I hope no one tries to use this info to create a psychological profile of me though! :-) Actually, some of the stuff on the list are watches that I'm personally interested in and other things I included as I think they are topical or perhaps watches that the readers are interested in.

It will also be a bit of a reference for market prices too. I hope.

Hi Pete W.
Thank you for this interesting article. It allows me to see a Seiko/Citizen/Casio
collector in action: where you hunt, what catches your attention, what your thoughts are,
what the prices are, your future strategy planning.

The other thing that always amazes me, and your article illustrates well,
is the huge variety of different styles that these three companies produce.

Keep up the good work. Paul

Hi Sjors,

Thanks for posting that information. I have had sellers refuse to sell to me on eBay many times and I think it eventually happens to all people who buy on eBay. In fact, one time I won a mint DW-1000 for about $22.00, and the seller claimed he lost the watch!
I'll let Neil know if I see another Muscle Time for sale.

Thanks for reading.

Hi Overload. I think you can maybe compare the current Seiko 1000M against the Newer Citizen 1000M watches, but I made my comparison based on the fact that both that Seiko 600M and Citizen 800M are vintage quartz watches that directly competed against eachother. The Citizen 1000M is a relatively new model and wasn't released when that Seiko 600M watch was in production.

Hi Petew,

The Muscle Time (I bought mine for about $200.-) auction got a bit nasty tail. A friend of me, an avid G-Shock collector from Chicago, won the auction, but the seller puled up a strange story about his cat kikcking it from the 2nd floor, but without photographical proof. Actually I'm afraid the watch will be pop up eventually on eBay or another selling platform. I hope people keep an eye out for this clock. I never have seen a white Muscle Time and frankly even a black Muscle time is very hard to find.

Read the whole story here:

Nice to see another Snake Killer. I'm completely broke at the moment(the Dawn Black series have used up all my reserves for quiet some time) but it's somehow a model I should get once.

Cheers,

Wouldn't the Citizen version of that Seiko Ti Tuna Can be the NH6930 1000m Ti. Or, am I wrong that it's a titanium watch? The version I've seen is all black, without the gold highlights.

 Thanks for new posts,
